They aren't that cool. I like the idiosyncrasies of Doom's weapons. If I want to make a weapon in Doom, it better be idiosyncratic too. I started out making my own weapons by just trying to fill in some blanks in some deathmatch maps I was making. I didn't like the Skulltag railgun and wanted to use the railgun I knew from my ZDaemon playing days. I guess it was lifted from Doom 64 but I was used to it from playing The Last Strike DM as well as ABC Clan DM. But then I wanted to animate it, so I did.

Over time, I'd added some other weapons to serve as a reward for the player killing off more meaty/bossy monsters. I thought it was total bullshit that the player obtained shotguns and chainguns from generally lower tier monsters but got absolutely nothing for wiping out the heavies.

Now that I'm forking these weapons off into their own section of the website, I think I'll throw in the health, armor and powerups I've created as well.
